The Anglo

The Anglo is a factory complex located inside the El Anglo neighbourhood. This neighbourhood grew with the factory of the same name. 


The neighbourhood is located to 30 blocks of the center of Fray Bentos and now the authorities is rescueing it of the oversight and transforming it in a tourist complex for the Unesco declare it in the future like a humanity patrimony. 

The factory opened during the 19th century by the Europeans. It had great boom in the begining of the 20th century until middle of the century. This factory was famous with her meat in cans or Corned beef that they sold in the world, especially during the world war I and II when they sold products to the soldiers in the front. 

The factory can visit for free or with guide for some areas. Inside the factory have an interesting museum with product that they made, documents and banners with the history of the factory an others objects of general interest.
